Regional Development Agencies

Regional development agencies – drivers of regional recovery and development

According to the Law of Ukraine “On the Principles of State Regional Policy”, regional development agencies are non-profit institutions established for the purpose of effective implementation of state regional policy. Using the principles of cohesion, transparent public dialogue, effective project management, RDAs are a platform for cooperation between authorities, businesses and citizens for inclusive and sustainable regional development, investment attractiveness of the region and unification of residents around common goals.

The UCORD project aims to increase the capacity of regional development agencies in six partner regions to effectively support regional authorities in updating regional development strategies, consistent with the recently adopted State Regional Policy, as well as taking into account the five key priorities of the EU Cohesion Policy.

Regional Development Agencies are inclusive, multi-stakeholder platforms to provide practical support for Ukraine’s recovery through the implementation of agreed national, regional and local recovery and development strategies.
