More investment and job creation for the regions: UCORD, in cooperation with Regional Development Agencies, is launching two new infrastructure development projects in the Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions.

The Swiss–Ukrainian project UCORD is launching the implementation of two new initiatives under its grant programme for the development of water supply and wastewater infrastructure in industrial parks in Ukraine.

These projects form part of Switzerland’s broader, systemic support for the recovery and development of Ukraine’s regions, in particular through strengthening infrastructure to attract investment and foster entrepreneurship.

The initiatives focus on the construction of water supply and wastewater systems in industrial parks—an essential prerequisite for attracting investors, launching production, and creating new jobs.

Slavuta Industrial Park, Khmelnytskyi Region

The project is being implemented in partnership with the Slavuta City Council, the Khmelnytskyi Regional Development Agency, and the Executive Committee of the Slavuta City Council. As part of the initiative, sewer networks essential for the full operation of the industrial park will be constructed. In addition, the project will provide access to the centralized wastewater system for residents of streets adjacent to the industrial park as well as for a nearby educational institution.

The project has a budget of approximately 435,000 Swiss francs, with UCORD contributing up to 76.54% and the local community providing at least 23.46%.

Chortkiv-West Industrial Park, Ternopil Region

The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Chortkiv City Council, the Ternopil Regional Development Agency, and the Municipal Enterprise “Local Economic Development Agency.” As part of the initiative, internal water supply and domestic sewage networks will be constructed within the industrial park.

The project has a budget of approximately 530,000 Swiss francs, with UCORD contributing up to 80% and the local community providing at least 20%.

The projects are expected to deliver modern infrastructure, enhance the investment appeal of the parks, and prepare them to attract tenants and create new jobs.

Both projects were selected for funding based on an assessment of needs, investment readiness, and the potential impact of the facilities listed in the Register of Industrial Parks.

Importantly, both projects fully align with the strategic development priorities of the Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions, as well as with the socio-economic development priorities of local communities. Their objectives and planned activities are embedded in regional and local strategic documents, ensuring the sustainability of results and long-term impact for the territories.

Regional Development Agencies play a key role in implementing the initiatives, not only by preparing the project proposals in close cooperation with local communities but also by continuing to coordinate the implementation of both projects. This partnership model—linking communities, RDAs, and international donors—enables the transformation of regional strategic plans into concrete infrastructure solutions.

The UCORD project is implemented by NIRAS Sweden AB with the support of Switzerland.
