This week, a Ukrainian delegation consisting of representatives from Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, and Ukrainian Regional Development Agencies will travel to the Trento Centre for Local Development, located in the city of Rovereto, Italy, for a training programme.

In addition to representatives of the UCORD project’s pilot agencies, other Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) from across Ukraine will also join this training program. UCORD aims to provide equal opportunities for learning and networking to all RDAs, and to help build a strong network of agencies throughout the country.

The focus of the training course is strategic regional development planning and SMART specialization in the strategic planning of EU member states and Ukraine. Therefore, the Ukrainian delegation features professionals specifically skilled in this area. We’re holding back some details for now, but we are able to share that, together with their European colleagues, the Ukrainian participants will literally break down the processes of developing and implementing effective development strategies “to the molecular level” and examine each of them “under a microscope.”

Here’s what makes this event even more special:

  • Participation in practical workshops where attendees will have the opportunity to enhance their skills in developing, managing, and promoting regional development strategies.
  • Opportunity to learn from successful international experiences and explore how these practices can be applied in Ukrainian regions.
  • Expanding professional networks through interaction and connection-building with European colleagues.

We would also like to introduce our partners who are collaborating with the UCORD project to organize this training course

  • OECD Trento Centre for Local Development (Іtaly), which is an integral part of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and works “from data to practice” to provide strategic advice and capacity building to enhance local policy implementation.
  • European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA) – gathers professionals working on economic development across Europe, facilitates cooperation between them, providing an opportunity for networking, planing common EU projects, cooperating, advocating.
  • Trentino Sviluppo — an organization that is a member of EURADA and was created by the Autonomous Province of Trento (Italy) to foster the sustainable growth through the developing actions and services aimed at supporting the creation of new entrepreneurial and innovation projects.

We’ll share the complete details with you soon!
