The UCORD project is launching cooperation with the PPV Economic Development Agency. The basis for the partnership is the Comprehensive Reform of the Network of Cultural Institutions, developed by RES-POL project experts to update the approach to managing cultural institutions. The reform combines a liberal approach, in particular the opportunity for cultural institutions to develop and earn money, with responsible engagement on the part of these institutions.

The focus of the reform is on key areas of development for the public cultural sector in Ukraine and three main components:

  • reform of operational activities;
  • reform of the financing system;
  • institutional reform.

Comprehensive reform of the network of cultural institutions has been included in the Strategy for Cultural Development in Ukraine for the period up to 2030 as a separate operational goal.

As part of the cooperation between the UCORD project and the PPV Economic Development Agency, a joint event is planned where representatives of the cultural sphere, communities, and institutions of the Sumy region will be able to discuss the reform project, share their vision, and provide feedback.

The strategic areas of activity of the PPV Economic Development Agency are the development and maturity of small and medium-sized businesses, local economic development, and institutional development. The agency has experience in the creative economy, sustainable development, innovation, financing, and cross-sectoral cooperation. The PPV Agency is the Business Information Support Center in Lviv.

The Swiss-Ukrainian project “Ukraine’s Cohesion and Regional Development”, UCORD is implemented with the support of Switzerland via the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation by NIRAS Sweden AB.
