During the visit, the project leader of the UCORD Project, Maryna Bryl, the vice president of NIRAS Sweden AB, Anna Liljelund, and the head of regional development support of the UCORD project, Olena Nyzhnyk, met with the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper, and discussed, how the UCORD project will help to improve the provision of public services in the field of water supply and sewerage in the communities of Odesa, develop the tourism infrastructure of the region and implement initiatives in the field of culture and creative industries.

In addition, the delegation visited the office of the Agency for Regional Development of the Odesa Region, where the RDA team presented the guests with important steps and prosperities in their activities. The issue of institutional support provided by the UCORD project to the Regional Development Agency of the Odesa region was discussed separately. We are sure that the joint successive steps of the UCORD project and the RDA team will strengthen the Agency’s ability to implement strategic projects for the region development.

The last part of the visit was a trip to the Tairov territorial community, where the guests were introduced to the projects that will be implemented in the community with the support of the Agency. In particular, it was about the prospects of building a family medicine clinic in the village of Petrodolynske and an educational complex in the village of Sukhy Lyman.

We remind you that in May of this year, the UCORD Project signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Odesa Oblast – Odesa Oblast State Administration, Odesa Oblast Council of the 8th convocation, Regional Development Agency of Odesa Oblast. The memorandum aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Odesa Regional Development Authority and the improvement of its organizational structure in accordance with EU standards, in order to further intensify the role of the Regional Development Authority in the restoration of communities and the region, as well as in the planning of local and regional development projects, the facilitation of dialogue between citizens, businesses and authorities, in particular, the development of policies in the field of water supply, sewerage and waste management, as well as culture and creative industries.
